Carburetor is dirty - Wash, clean and adjust.
Poor compression - Inspect and replace wear parts.
Not adjusted or damaged throttle cable - Change cable or adjust properly.

Engine runs roughly

Cooling fins are blocked - Clean and wash as required.
Ignition system is defective - Inspect ignition system and change failed components.
Throttle cable is faulty or stuck - Change or service the cable.
Air filter element is plugged - Service or replace air filter.
Clogged or damaged fuel pump - Check fuel pump and replace if necessary.

Engine starts and then shuts off

Spark plug is faulty - Install new spark plug.
Faulty or clogged carburetor - Clean or install new carburetor.
Defective ignition coil - Change ignition coil as required.
Broken or bad valve springs - Replace valve springs.
Valves sticking - Valves need to be cleaned.

Engine overheating

Lack of engine oil - Fill the crankcase with engine oil.
Engine overload - Load reducing required.
Clogged cooling fins - Need to wash or clean.
Too lean fuel mixture in carburetor - Use proper settings.
