Fuel filter plugging - Change filter element.

Improper valve timing - Set the valve timing correctly.
Plugged fuel pipes - Service fuel pipes.
Unadjusted injection timing - Adjust according to specifications.
Worn cylinder or piston rings - Replace defective components.
Engine starts but then stalls |
Fuel filter plugging - Clean or replace the filter.
Fuel injection pump malfunctioning - Change or repair the pump.
Air filter clogged - Clean or replace the element.
Nozzle opening pressure is not adjusted - Adjust as required.
Engine shuts off suddenly during operation |
Incorrect adjustment of fuel injection pump timing - Set the fuel pump timing correctly.

Dirty or faulty injection nozzles - Replace injection nozzles.
Clogged fuel lines or hoses - Fuel hoses and lines must be clean.
Clogged air filter element - Service air cleaner.
Blown cylinder head gasket - Gasket should be replaced.
Injection timing is out of adjustment - Adjust according to specifications.
Fuel injection pump is faulty - Rebuild or install a new injection pump.
One of moving engine parts is faulty - Repair or replace defective components.
Engine overheated |
Clogged radiator fins or leaking radiator cap - Install new cap or clean radiator.
Low coolant level - Refill to the correct level and inspect system for leaks.
Loose or defective fan belt - Change the fan belt.
Engine oil level is low - Need to add engine oil.
Damaged cylinder-head gasket - Gasket should be replaced.
Injection timing is improper - Set the injection timing correctly.
Oil pressure is low |
Oil level is insufficient - Checking oil level and add if necessary.
Oil pump is defective - Replace as required.

Pistons or cylinder liners are scored - Check pistons and liners, replace as required.
Engine knocking sound or abnormal noise |
Engine is not preheated - Warm up to required temperature.
Insufficient engine oil - Need to add engine oil.
Incorrect adjustment of fuel injection pump timing - Adjust fuel injection pump as required.
Piston wear or scoring - Have pistons replaced.
Misaligned or faulty connecting rod - Align or change connecting rod.
Starter cranks slow |
Battery capacity is low - Charge the battery.
Battery won’t hold charge - Service charging system or install new battery.
Disconnected battery cables or bad terminals - Check wiring and clean or replace terminals.
Starter does not work |
Battery is low or faulty - Charge or replace the battery.
Wiring is improperly connected or disconnected - Check wiring and connect properly.
Low battery output - Battery needs to be recharged.
Damaged starter motor - Repair or replace starter.
