Mercury 60 Bigfoot Troubleshooting
Engine will not start or starts up hard |
No gasoline in tank - Fill it up.
Low-quality gasoline - Use correct gasoline grade.
Air in the fuel system - Air bleeding.
Defective wiring connection of spark plug - Check spark plug wiring connection, repair or change.
Spark plug is defective - Spark plug need to be replaced.
Fuel filter is plugged - Replace or clean fuel filter.
Restricted fuel lines - Clean fuel system lines.
Drained or defective battery - Charge or replace the battery.
Damaged wiring harness connections - Check wiring harness connections.
Defective ignition system - Change defective parts.
Defective pulse fuel pump - Change pulse fuel pump as required.
Damaged electric fuel pump - Install new electric fuel pump.
Electronic control modul failure - Replace ECM.
Engine starts and then shuts off |
Faulty spark plug - Replace spark plug.
