Engine doesn't start or starts hard |
Fuel tank is empty - Fill it up.
Incorrect fuel grade - Change fuel.
Water or air in fuel system - Remove air or water from system.
Spark plug wire is disconnected or loose - Check spark plug wiring connection, repair or change.
Spark plug is damaged - Replace spark plug.
Defective ignition - Inspect ignition system and change failed components.
Fuel filter is dirty - Fuel filter needs to be replaced.
Dirt in the fuel lines - Service fuel lines.
Fuel pump is damaged or dirty - Clean or change fuel pump.
Fuel injectors are clogged or faulty - Clean or install new fuel injectors.
Engine has low compression - Check cylinder block and replace defective parts.
Engine runs intermittently |
Defective ignition system - Check ignition system and replace faulty parts.
Air filter is dirty - Change or service air filter.
Defective spark plug - Change spark plug as required.
Fuel pump is defective or dirty - Service or change fuel pump.
Valve clearance is improper - Adjust to proper valve clearance.
Wrong ignition timing - Adjust ignition timing as required.
Incorrect low idle setting - Need to adjust idle speed.
Engine starts and stops |
Defective spark plug - Change spark plug as required.
Clogged or damaged fuel injectors - Clean or replace fuel injectors.

Engine overheats |
Engine oil level low - Check and refill engine oil.
Engine is running overloaded - Reduce load.

Ignition timing is incorrect - Set the ignition timing properly.
Incorrect valve setting - Valves needs to be adjusted properly.
Clogged radiator fins or leaking radiator cap - Replace cap or clean radiator.
Lack of engine coolant - Top up coolant fluid and check system for leaks.
Faulty thermostat - Change thermostat as required.
Water pump failure - Change water pump as required.
Engine knocking sound or abnormal noise |
Stale gasoline - Use proper gasoline.
Engine is running overloaded - Load reducing is recommended.
Engine oil level low - Fill up the oil to required level.
Improperly adjusted low idle speed - Correct idle settings.
Clogged or damaged fuel pump - Inspect fuel pump and change as required.
