Suzuki DF2.5 Troubleshooting
The Suzuki DF2.5 is a four-stroke single-cylinder overhead valve gasoline outboard engine. This engine has a carburetor fuel system, wet sump lubrication, water cooled with thermostat, and transistorized ignition system. A 4.1 cu.in (68 cc) outboard motor has a cylinder bore of 1.89" (48 mm), piston stroke of 1.50" (38 mm), and maximum power of 2.5 hp (1.8 kW) at 5250-5750 rpm. The boat motor is equipped with a manual starting system, 3-blades aluminum standard propeller, manual trim and tilt, and tiller handle steering system. The fuel tank has a capacity of 0.25 gal (0.9 liters).

| Engine will not start or hard to start |
No gasoline in tank - Fill gasoline up.
Wrong grade of gasoline - Use correct fuel grade.
Air in fuel tank - Bleed fuel tank.

Spark plug is damaged - Replace spark plug.
Clogged fuel filter - Install new filter.

Defective fuel pump - Install new fuel pump or rebuild it.
Choke cable is not adjusted properly or worn - Change cable or adjust properly.

Incorrect valve timing - Adjust valve timing correctly.
