Suzuki DF30ATL Troubleshooting
The Suzuki DF30ATL is a four-stroke three-cylinder overhead cam water-cooled gasoline long shaft outboard engine. This engine has a wet sump lubrication by trochoid pump, electronic fuel injection, integral fuel pump, and capacitor discharge ignition system. A 29.9 cu.in (490 cc) outboard motor has a cylinder bore of 2.38" (60.4 mm), piston stroke of 2.24" (57 mm), and maximum power of 30 hp (22.1 kW) at 5300-6300 rpm. The boat motor is equipped with a manual or electric starting system, 3-blades aluminum standard propeller, power trim and tilt, and tiller handle or remote control steering system. The fuel tank has a capacity of 6.6 gal (25 liters).

Damaged or clogged fuel injector - Clean or replace if necessary.
Fuel regulator failure - Install new fuel regulator.
ECM is faulty - Replace ECM.

Damaged or wear vapor separator needle valve - Change vapor separator needle valve.
Damaged ignition coil - Replace ignition coil as necessary.

Defective fuel pump - Repair or change fuel pump.
Damaged choke system - Inspect and replace choke system components.
Excessive valve clearance - Adjustment procedure required.
Wrong valve timing - Set the valve timing properly.
Bad or damaged valve springs - Change valve springs.
Stuck valves - Clean the valves.
Bad compression - Inspect and replace defective parts.
Clogged fuel filter - Fuel filter needs to be replaced.

Oil level is insufficient - Fill up oil to required level.
Damaged pump assembly - Inspect pump and change as required.
Leakage of manual release valve - Close the valve or change it.
Broken motor or pump driveshaft - Replace worn component.
