Toyota 3S-GE Engine Specifications
The Toyota 3S-GE is a 3S family inline four-stroke four-cylinder direct injection naturally aspirated gasoline engine produced by Toyota Motor Corporation.
This engine has cast iron cylinder block and aluminum cylinder head. The development of the engine
began in the late 1984.
The Toyota 3S-GE engine has five different generations. The cylinder block is
equipped with a forged crankshaft, balanced by eight weights, and lightweight
aluminum pistons. The aluminum head has a cross-flow design - the intake and
exhaust ports are directed in opposite sides. There are four valves per cylinder
(16 valves total), no hydraulic lifters, and two belt-driven overhead camshafts.
The spark plug is located in the center of the combustion chamber.
