R-family. The engine was manufactured by Toyota Motor Corporation since
1985 to 1988.
The engine features a cast-iron block and aluminum cylinder head
with the single overhead camshaft (SOHC) and two valves per cylinder (8
in total). Compression ratio rating is 7.5:1. Cylinder bore and piston

Toyota 22R-E engine has an electronic fuel injection (EFI) system,
turbocharger, and ignition system with a mechanical distributor.
The 22RTE engine produced 137 PS (101 kW; 135 HP) at 4,800 rpm of
maximum horsepower and 234 Nm (23.9 kgm, 172 ft-lb) at 2,800 rpm of peak
torque.
