Engine starts up hard or doesn't start |
Fuel filter plugged - Service the filter.
Air in the fuel system - Air bleeding.
Dirty or damaged injection nozzles - Clean or replace injection nozzles.
Fuel injection pump is not operating properly - Repair or replace injection pump.
Incorrect valve timing - Use correct valve timing adjustment.
Restricted fuel pipes - Service fuel pipes.
Wrong injection timing - Adjust according to specifications.
Excessive wear of piston rings and cylinder - Change faulty components.
Engine starts and immediately shuts off |
Fuel filter plugged - Clean or replace the filter.
Fuel injection pump malfunction - Replace injection pump or repair it.
Clogged air cleaner - Clean or change the filter.
Improper nozzle opening pressure - Adjust according to specifications.
Engine stalls while running |
Improper setting of fuel injection pump timing - Set up as recommended.
Fuel filter plugging - Replace filter element.
Low coolant temperature - Warm up the engine.
Injection nozzles sticking or clogged - Service or change injection nozzles.
Engine stalling at idle |
Low idle speed set incorrectly - Correct the settings.
The valve clearance is incorrect - Correct valve clearance needs to be set.
Fuel injection pump is faulty - Replace injection pump or repair it.
Engine is not running at maximum power |
Dirty or faulty injection nozzles - Service or change injection nozzles.
Fuel hoses or lines clogging - Fuel hoses and lines must be clean.
Restricted intake air - Clean air cleaner element.
Worn cylinder head gasket - Replace cylinder head gasket.
Incorrect injection timing - Adjust according to specifications.
Fuel injection pump is damaged - Install a new pump or rebuild.
One of moving engine parts is faulty - Repair or replace defective parts.
Engine overheating |
Clogged radiator fins or damaged radiator cap - Clean radiator or change cap.
Engine coolant is insufficient - The cooling system needs to be refilled and checked for faults.
Fan belt is broken or worn - Fan belt must be replaced.
Engine oil level low - Check and refill engine oil.
Blown cylinder head gasket - Install new cylinder head gasket.
Wrong injection timing - Set up as recommended.
Low oil pressure |
Low oil level - Fill the crankcase with oil.
Oil pump failure - Replace as required.
Dirty oil filter element - Clean or replace engine oil filter element.
Relief valve is stuck or broken - Relief valve need to be replaced or cleaned.
Excessive crankshaft bearing clearance - Check and change or repair defective parts.
Excessive crankpin bearing clearance - Test and repair or replace worn parts.
Engine consuming too much oil |
Oil leaks: Gaskets or seals are excessively worn - Defective components must be replaced.
Incorrect oil viscosity - Fill up with the proper oil viscosity.
Worn or broken piston rings - Install new piston rings.
Valve stems and guides are worn - Replace the valves.
Cylinder liners or pistons are damaged - Check pistons and liners, install new parts as required.
Abnormal engine knocking or noise |
Engine has not warmed up to the recommended temperature - Engine is not warmed up to the required temperature.
Engine oil insufficient - Check and refill engine oil.
Fuel injection pump timing is not adjusted - Adjust as recommended.
Broken or worn pistons - Install new pistons.
Connecting rod is not aligned or defective - Align or replace connecting rod.
Starter turns slowly |
Low battery power - Battery is drained, recharge it.
Battery is draining quickly - Service or replace the battery.
Disconnected wiring or bad battery terminals - Check cable connections and change or clean terminals.
Starter motor is not working |
Battery is low or faulty - Charge or change the battery.
Disconnected or incorrectly connected wires - Inspect battery wires and connect correctly.
Battery capacity is low - Battery is drained, recharge it.
Starter motor failing - Starter needs to be replaced.
