Engine starts hard or will not start |
Fuel filter plugging - Clean or change the filter.
Air in fuel system - Bleed fuel system.
Fuel injection nozzles are damaged - Replace injection nozzles.
Defective fuel injection pump - Replace or repair injection pump.
Unadjusted valve timing - Adjust or change timing gear.
Restricted fuel pipes - Clean fuel pipes.
Injection timing is improper - Set up as recommended.
Excessive wear of piston rings and cylinder - Replace defective components.
Engine starts and stops suddenly |
Fuel filter element is clogged - Filter maintenance required.
Fuel injection pump is not operating properly - Repair or install new pump.

Damaged cylinder-head gasket - Change cylinder head gasket.
Wrong injection timing - Set up as recommended.
Fuel injection pump failure - Replacement or repair required.
One of moving engine components has failed - Change or repair damaged parts.
Engine overheated |
Clogged radiator fins or damaged radiator cap - Clean radiator or change cap.
Low coolant level - Refill to the correct level and inspect system for leaks.
Fan belt slipping or worn - The fan belt needs to be replaced.
Engine oil level is low - Check and refill engine oil.
Cylinder head gasket is defective - Install new cylinder head gasket.
Incorrect injection timing - Adjust according to specifications.
Oil pressure is low |
Oil level is insufficient - Add oil to the engine crankcase.

High engine oil consumption |
Oil leakage: Gaskets or seals may be damaged - To repair leaks, replace worn parts.
Wrong oil viscosity - Use correct viscosity oil.
Piston rings are defective or worn - Piston rings need to be replaced.
Damaged valve guides or valve stems - Change the valves.
Cylinder liners or pistons are scored - Check pistons and liners, replace as required.
Abnormal engine knocking or noise |
Coolant temperature is low - Warm up engine as required.
Low engine oil level - Need to add engine oil.
Improper setting of fuel injection pump timing - Set the fuel pump timing correctly.
Worn or scored pistons - Pistons replacement required.
Connecting rod misalignment or failure - Align or replace connecting rod.
Starter turns slow |
Low battery voltage - Battery needs to be recharged.
Battery won’t hold charge - Service battery or change it.
Battery cables are disconnected or terminals are faulty - Connect wires correctly or change terminals.
Starter is not cranking |
Battery is discharged or defective - Change or recharge battery.
Battery wiring is disconnected or improperly connected - Inspect wiring and connect as required.
Battery power is low - Low battery charging, charge as required.
Starter motor is defective - Repair or change starter.
