| Engine hard to start or doesn't start |
Fuel filter plugged - Clean the filter or install new filter element.
Air trapped in fuel system - Bleed air.

Valve timing is incorrect - Set the valve timing correctly.

Crankshaft bearing clearance is excessive - Test and repair or replace worn parts.
Crankpin bearing clearance is excessive - Inspect and change or repair worn components.
