The John Deere S240 is a 2-wheel drive lawn tractor from S200 series. This model was manufactured from 2015 to 2025. The John Deere S240 tractor can be powered by the following engines: Kawasaki FS600V 4-cycle V-twin cylinder OHV air-cooled gasoline engine with a rated power of 18.5 Hp (13.8 kW) or Kawasaki FR651V 4-cycle single cylinder OHV air-cooled gasoline engine with a rated power of 21.5 Hp (16 kW).

This model is fitted with a hydro transmission with infinite forward and reverse gears.
