John Deere X350R Troubleshooting

The John Deere X350R is a 2-wheel drive lawn tractor from Select X300 series. This model was manufactured from 2016 to 2025. The John Deere X350R tractor can be powered by the following engines: Kawasaki FS600V 4-cycle V-twin cylinder OHV air-cooled gasoline engine with a rated power of 18.5 Hp (13.8 kW) or Kawasaki FR651V 4-cycle V-twin cylinder OHV air-cooled gasoline engine with a rated power of 21.5 Hp (16 kW).

This model is fitted with Tuff Torq hydro transmission with infinite forward and reverse gears. The John Deere X350R is equipped with a manual steering, electric PTO clutch, wet disc brakes, 15x6.00-6 front tires, and 20x10.00-8 rear tires. The operating weight is 464 lbs (210 kg). The tractor is compatible with the following attachments: 42" mid-mount 2-blade right-discharge mower deck with a cutting height of 1.0-4.0 in (25-102 mm), 44" front-mount 2-stage snow blower with manual lift system, and 44" front blade.

Shifting is hard

Transmission leakage
Transmission gaskets or seals are damaged - Install new seals or gaskets
Leaking final drive shaft - Install new shaft seals
Cracked transmission housing - Housing needs to be replaced

Mower Deck Troubleshooting
Excessive mower vibration
Worn or dirty mower drive pulley - Change or clean pulley
Damaged or loose drive belt - Adjust belt tension or replace belt
Unbalanced or warped mower blades - Balance or change blades
Loose blade bolts tightening - Bolts need to be tightened
Discharge chute regular clogging
Mowing speed is too high - Need to slow down
Tall grass - Adjust mower to lower cutting height
Engine rpm is too low - Open choke fully
Mower deck set to low cutting - Must be set to high cutting height

Electrical Troubleshooting
Battery does not charge
Electrical wire connections are loose or corroded - Tighten or clean electrical wiring connections
Defective battery terminal connectors - Install new terminal connectors
Faulty cell in battery - Change the battery
Starter cranks slow
Battery capacity is low - Battery is drained, charge it
Battery discharges quickly - Service or change the battery
Bad terminals or disconnected battery cables - Connect wiring properly or install new terminals
Starter is not working
Battery is drained or defective - Charge or replace the battery
Disconnected or incorrectly connected wires - Inspect battery wires and connect correctly
Battery power is low - Recharge the battery
Faulty or incorrectly gapped spark plug - Replace or clean and gap
Damaged starter motor or solenoid - Repair starter or change solenoid
