Wheel Horse 417A Garden Tractor
The
Wheel Horse 417A is a 400-series two-wheel drive garden tractor. This model was
manufactured from 1985 to 1986. The Wheel Horse 417-A driveline includes a 42.2
cu.in (691 cc) Kohler KT17QS four-cycle 2-cylinder air-cooled gasoline engine
with a rated power of 17 hp (12.7 kW), and Eaton 1100 belt-driven hydrostatic
transmission with infinite forward and reverse gears.
The engine has a side draft carburetor with adjustable jet, mechanically
operated fuel pump, and pressurized lubrication with rotor type oil
pump. The maximum forward speed - 7 mph (11.3 km/h), maximum reverse
speed - 4.5 mph (7.2 km/h).
The Wheel Horse 417-A was equipped with a manual steering system, band
type brakes, 15x6.00-6 front tires, and 22x7.50-12 rear tires. The
wheelbase is 45.5" (1115 mm). The tractor is compatible with 36", 42",
or 48" mid-mount 3-blade mower decks with hydraulic lift system.
