Wheel Horse C-161 Garden Tractor
The
Wheel Horse C161 garden tractor was manufactured between 1978 and 1979. The
Wheel Horse C-161 tractor could be powered by two engines: 35.9 cu.in (588 cc)
Kohler K341AS single cylinder air-cooled gasoline engine with a rated power of
16 Hp (12 kW), or 40 cu.in (655 cc) Briggs and Stratton 401407 twin cylinder
horizontal shaft air-cooled gasoline engine with a rated power of 16 Hp (12 kW).
Tractor is fitted with 2 types of transmission. 1st type: belt-driven
gear transmission with 6 forward and 2 reverse gears. 2nd type:
Sundstrand belt-driven hydrostatic transmission with infinite forward
and reverse gears.
Max forward speed - 6.3 mph (10.1 km/h), maximum reverse speed - 3.2 mph
(5.1 km/h). The Wheel Horse C161 was equipped with a manual steering
system, drum type brakes, 16x6.50-8 front tires, and 23x8.50-12 rear
tires. The wheel base is 45.5" (1150 mm). The tractor is compatible with
the following attachments: 36", 42" mid-mount 3-blade right-discharge
mower decks with cutting height of 1.25-3.25" (31-82 mm), 48" mid-mount
3-blade right-discharge mower deck with cutting height of 1.5-4.0"
(38-102 mm), 42" front-mount snow blower, and 42" front-mount blade.
