Wheel Horse Commando 8 garden tractor was manufactured between 1968 and 1969.
The components of Wheel Horse Commando 8 powerline system: 18.6 cu.in (308 cc)
Kohler K181S 4-stroke single cylinder air-cooled gasoline engine with a maximum
power of 8 Hp (6 kW), and Wheel Horse Uni-Drive belt-driven gear transmission
with 3 forward and 1 reverse gears.
The engine has a carburetor with fixed main jet or adjustable main jet,
splash type lubrication, and forced-air cooling system. Max. travel
speed (forward/reverse): 6 mph (9.6 km/h) and 2 mph (3.2 km/h).
The Wheel Horse Commando 8 was equipped with 15x5.50x8 front tires and
20x8.50-12 rear tires. The wheelbase is 41.3 in (1040 mm). The garden
tractor is compatible with the following attachments: a 36" mid-mount
2-blade mower deck with cutting height of 1.5-4.0" (38-102 mm) and
manual lifting system, 32" front-mount snowblower, and 42" front-mount
blade.
