Case 480E Backhoe Loader
The
Case 480E backhoe loader was manufactured from 1988 to 1998. The Case 480E
driveline system components: Case 4-390 four-cylinder liquid-cooled diesel
engine, and 4x4 power shuttle transmission with single stage torque converter. A
239 cubic inches engine output power is 69 hp (51.5 kW), and a maximum torque is
252 Nm (186 lb-ft) at 1200 rpm.
The max forward speed - 20.9 mph (33.7 km/h), a maximum reverse speed -
18.2 mph (29.3 km/h). The open center hydraulic system includes a gear
pump with rated capacity of 23 gal/min (87 l/min).
The main relief pressure is 162 bar (2350 psi). The Case 480E backhoe
loader is equipped with 7.50x16 front tyres and 14.9x24 rear tyres
(2-wheel drive models), or 12x16.5 front tyres and 17.5Lx24 rear tyres
(4-wheel drive models). The wheelbase is 80" (2030 mm) for models with
2WD (4x2), and 80.5" (2040 mm) for models with 4WD (4x4).
The front end loader has a lift capacity (at pivot pin) of 3170 lbs
(1440 kg) to a maximum height of 127.5" (3230 mm), and boom breakout
force of 6340 lbs (2880 kg). The bucket dump clearance is 102.5" (2600
mm) at maximum dump angle of 43 degrees. The estimated cycle times are
3.7 seconds lifting to full height, and 3 seconds full bucket dumping.
The loader is available with a 64" long lip bucket, and 74" or 82" short
lip buckets.
The backhoe has a bucket dig force of 8116 lbs (14-ft backhoe) or 8276
lbs (extendahoe), and dipper arm digging force of 5228 lbs (14-ft
backhoe) or 3560 lbs (extendahoe). The maximum digging depth is 168.5"
(4270 mm) for 14-ft backhoe and 181.8" (4610 mm) for extendahoe. The
overall reach from swing pivot (ground line) is 212" (5380 mm) for 14-ft
backhoe, or 224.2" (5690 mm) for extendahoe. The backhoe is compatible
with 12" 18", 24", 30" and 36" buckets.
