Ford 655C Backhoe Loader
The
Ford 655C backhoe loader was manufactured from 1989 to 1992. The components of
Ford 655C powerline system: Ford four-cylinder water-cooled naturally aspirated
diesel engine, and 4x4 synchromesh transmission with single stage torque
converter. A 268 cubic inches (4.4 L) engine has a cylinder bore of 4.4" (112
mm), piston stroke of 4.4" (112 mm), and rated power of 82 hp (61.1 kW).
The max forward speed - 19.9 mph (32 km/h), a maximum reverse speed -
19.8 mph (31.9 km/h). The open center hydraulic system used a piston
pump with fluid flow rate of 31.0 (117.5) gpm. The hydraulic pressure is
183 bar (2650 psi). The RRR is equipped with 11Lx16 (2WD) or 12.0x16.5
(4WD) front tyres and 16.9x28 rear tyres. The wheelbase is 87" (2200
mm).
The loader has a max lift height of 136.3" (3460 mm) at pin and a bucket
dump clearance of 106.6" (2700 mm). The lift capacity is rated at 6500
lbs (2950 kg) to max height, and boom breakout force is 12000 lbs (5445
mm). The estimated cycle times are 4.5 seconds lifting to full height,
and 1.7 seconds to full bucket dump. The 88" (2230 mm) standard material
bucket has a rated capacity of 31.5 cu.ft (0.9 cu.m).
The Ford Xtra-Vator backhoe digs to a maximum depth of 233" (5910 mm).
The digging force is 7810 lbs (3540 kg) for the dipperstick cylinder and
12510 lbs (5675 kg) for the bucket cylinder. The overall reach from
swing pivot at ground line is 276" (7010 mm). The backhoe can be
equipped with 12", 18", 24", 30", and 36" buckets.
