Ford 655D Backhoe Loader
The
Ford 655D is a 2WD or 4WD backhoe loader. This model was manufactured from 1993
to 1995. The Ford 655D drivetrain consists of a 4-cycle four-cylinder
liquid-cooled diesel engine and 4x4 fully synchronized transmission with single
stage torque converter. The 268 cu.in (4.4L) engine has a cylinder bore of 4.4"
(112 mm), piston stroke of 4.4" (112 mm), rated power of 82 hp (61.1 kW), and
maximum torque of 288 Nm (212 lb-ft) at 1200 rpm.
The maximum travel speed (forward and reverse): 19.9 mph (32 kph) / 19.8
mph (31.9 kph). The open center hydraulic system includes a gear pump
with fluid flow rate of 31 gallons per minute (117. 5 liters per
minute). The hydraulic system pressure is 2650 psi (183 bar). The Ford
655D backhoe loader is equipped with 11Lx16 (2WD) or 12.0x16.5 (4WD)
front tires and 16.9x28 rear tires. The wheel base is 87" (2200 mm).
The loader has a lifting capacity (at bucket pin) of 6500 lbs (2950 kg)
to maximum height of 136.3" (3460 mm), and breakout force (bucket on
ground) of 12000 lbs (5445 kg). A full dump clearance with a 45-degree
maximum dump angle is 106.6" (2700 mm). The raising time is 4.5 sec from
ground line to max height, and bucket dumping time is 1.7 sec. The 88"
(2230 mm) bucket has a heaped capacity of 31.5 cu.ft (0.9 m3).
The Ford Xtra-Vator backhoe has a bucket dig force of 12510 lbs (5675
kg), and dipper arm dig force of 5470 lbs (2480 kg). The maximum digging
depth is 233" (5910 mm), and overall reach from swing pivot is 276"
(7010 mm) at ground line. The backhoe is compatible with 12" (305 mm),
18" (455 mm), 24" (605 mm), 30" (760 mm), and 36" (910 mm) buckets.
