Massey Ferguson 70 Backhoe Loader
The
Massey Ferguson 70 backhoe loader was manufactured between 1970 and 1980. The
Massey Ferguson 70 is powered by Perkins A4.318 4-stroke four-cylinder naturally
aspirated liquid-cooled diesel engine. A 318 cubic inches (5.2 L) engine has a
cylinder bore of 4.5 in (114 mm), piston stroke of 5 in (127 mm), and rated
power of 108 hp (80.5 kW). The transmission consists of a full power shift
gearbox with 2 forward and 2 reverse gears, and single-stage torque converter.
The maximum forward speed - 16 mph (25.7 km/h), max reverse speed - 16
mph (25.7 km/h). The open center hydraulic system used a gear pump with
a flow rate of 30 gpm (113.5 lpm) for loader and 18 gpm (68 lpm) for
backhoe. The hydraulic pressure is 146.5 bar (2125 psi). The MF 70 is
fitted with 11.0x15 or 11.0x16 front tires and 16.9x30 or 18.4x28 rear
tires. The wheelbase is 90 in (2280 mm).
The loader has a lifting capacity (at pin) of 5500 lbs (2495 kg) to full
height of 138 in (3500 mm), and bucket's breakout force of 9000 lbs
(4080 kg). A full dump clearance with a 50-degree max dump angle is 110
in (2790 mm). The time to raise the boom is 5 sec from ground line to
max height, and bucket dump time is 2.5 sec. The 90 in (2280 mm) bucket
has a nominal heaped capacity of 38.5 cu.ft (1.1 m3).
The backhoe has a bucket dig force of 14700 lbs (6665 kg) and
dipperstick digging force of 8550 lbs (3880 kg). The digging depth at
maximum value is 198 in (5020 mm), and reach from swing pivot is 252 in
(6400 mm) at ground line. The backhoe can be fitted with 18 in (455 mm),
24 in (605 mm), 30 in (760 mm), and 36 in (910 mm) buckets.
