Ford 4000SU Tractor
The
Ford 4000SU is a two-wheel drive special utility tractor. This model was
manufactured between 1970 and 1976. The Ford 4000 SU tractor is equipped with a
Ford 3-cylinder water cooled diesel engine with a rated power of 57 hp (42.5
kW), or vertical 3-cylinder gasoline engine with a rated power of 56 hp (41.5
kW).
The Dual-Range transmission consists of a dry clutch and gearbox with 8
forward and 2 reverse gears. Max. travel speed (forward/reverse): 15 mph
(24.1 km/h) and 7.2 mph (11.6 km/h). The open center hydraulic system
used a gear pump with a flow rate of 5.4 gal/min (20.8 l/min).
The hydraulic pressure is 173 bar (2500 psi). The Ford 4000SU was
equipped with a power steering system, wet dics brakes, 7.50x15 or
7.50x16 front tires, and 14.9x28 or 16.9x24 rear tires. The wheel base
is 77.3 inches (1960 mm).
