International Harvester 1255
The
International Harvester 1255 is a 4-wheel drive farm tractor. This model was
manufactured between 1979 and 1985. The IH 1255 tractor is powered by 358 cubic
inches (5.9L) International Harvester DT358 4-stroke 6-cylinder direct injection
turbocharged diesel engine with a rated power of 125 hp (93.2 kW) and 455.6 Nm
(336 lb-ft) of maximum torque at 1600 rev/min.
The IH 1255 is fitted with two types of transmission. 1st type: fully
synchronized transmission with 12 forward and 5 reverse gears. 2nd type:
fully synchronized transmission with 20 forward and 9 reverse gears.
Max forward speed - 14.5 mph (23.3 km/h), maximum reverse speed - 13.6
mph (21.9 km/h). The open center hydraulic system used a gear pump with
a flow of 13.2 gal/min (50 l/min). The main relief pressure is 172 bar
(2500 psi). The International Harvester 1255 was equipped with a
hydrostatic power steering, wet dics brakes, 14.9R28 front tires, and
20.8R38 rear tires. The wheel base is 110.2 inches (2790 mm).
