International Harvester 1256
The
International Harvester 1256 is a 2WD or 4WD standard-tread tractor. This model
was manufactured from 1967 to 1969. The IH 1256 tractor is powered by
International Harvester DT407 four-stroke 6-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine
with operating power of 125 hp (92.6 kW) at 2400 rev/min.
The International Harvester 1256 is equipped with two types of
transmission. 1st type: 8x4 unsynchronized gear transmission. 2nd type:
16x8 Torque Amplifier partial powershift transmission. The maximum
forward speed - 19.5 mph (31.4 km/h), max. reverse speed - 9.5 mph (15.3
km/h).
The open center hydraulic system includes a gear pump with rated fluid
flow of 8 gallons per minute (30.3 liters per minute). The hydraulic
fluid capacity is 16.9 gal (64.3 L). The tractor is fitted with 10.00x16
front tires and 18.4x38 rear tires. The wheel base is 105 inches (2660
mm).
