The
International Harvester 856 tractor was manufactured from 1967 to 1971.
The components of IH 856 powerline system: The International Harvester D407 4-stroke
6-cylinder direct injection diesel engine, and sliding gear transmission with 8
forward and 4 reverse gears, or 16x8 Torque Amplifier partial powershift
transmission. A 6.7L diesel engine power rating is 105 hp (77.8 kW) at 2400 rpm.
Max. travel speed (forward/reverse): 15.6 mph (25.1 km/h) and 4.9 mph
(7.8 km/h). The open center hydraulic system includes a gear pump with
a rated capacity of 12 gpm (45.5 lpm). The hydraulic system
pressure is 2500 psi (172 bar).
The 2WD models are equipped with 11.0x16 front tires and 18.4-38 rear
tires. The 11Lx15 front tires and 18.4-38 rear tires are used for 4WD
tractors. The wheel base is 105 inches (2660 mm).
