International Harvester 955XL
The
International Harvester 955XL farm tractor was manufactured from 1981 to 1982.
The IH 955 XL driveline system components: International Harvester D-358
six-cylinder direct injection naturally aspirated liquid cooled diesel engine
and IH-Synchron transmission with 16 forward and 8 reverse gears.
A 358 cubic inches (5.9 L) engine has a cylinder bore of 3.88" (98 mm),
piston stroke of 5.06" (129 mm), rated power of 90 hp (66.7 kW), and max
torque of 334 Nm (247.4 lb-ft) at 1400 rpm. The maximum forward speed -
18.3 mph (29.4 kph), maximum reverse speed - 9 mph (14.5 kph).
The open center hydraulic system used a gear pump with a flow rate of
9.5 gallons per minute (36 liters per minute). The hydraulic system
pressure is 175 bar (2540 psi). The International Harvester 955XL was
equipped with a hydrostatic power steering system, hydraulic wet disc
brakes, 11.0x16 (2WD) or 12.4x28 (4WD) front tires, and 16.9x38 rear
tires. The wheelbase is 102.4" (2590 mm) for 2WD models and 103.9" (2630
mm) for 4WD models.
