John Deere 1140 Maintenance
The
John Deere 1140 is a two-wheel drive or four-wheel drive utility tractor. This
model was manufactured from 1980 to 1987. The JD 1140 tractor is powered by 179
cubic inches (2.9 L) four-stroke three-cylinder naturally aspirated diesel
engine with a maximum power of 55 hp (41 kW) and 185 Nm (136 lb-ft) of peak
torque at 1400 rev/min.
The John Deere 1140 is fitted with two transmission options: Collar
shift transmission with 8 forward and 4 reverse gears, or 16x8 two-speed
powershift transmission with high and low range.
The maximum forward speed - 19.6 mph (31.5 km/h), max. reverse speed -
11.5 mph (18.4 km/h). The closed center constant pressure hydraulic
system used a piston pump with fluid flow rate of 12.4 gpm (46.9 lpm).
The hydraulic pressure is 170 bar (2465 psi). The 2WD models are
equipped with 7.5x16 front tyres and 13.6x36 rear tyres. The 11.2x24
front tyres and 13.6x36 rear tyres fit 4WD tractors. The wheelbase is
80.7 inches (2040 mm).
