The Kubota B1620 is a 2WD or 4WD compact utility tractor. This model was manufactured between 2009 and 2017. The Kubota B1620 tractor is powered by 43.9 cu.in (0.72 L) Kubota D722 4-cycle vertical 3-cylinder water-cooled diesel engine with a rated power of 13.9 hp (10.3 kW) at 2800 rpm. The tractor is fitted with a gear shift transmission with 6 forward and 2 reverse gears. The maximum forward speed - 11.9 mph (19 km/h), maximum reverse speed - 4.4 mph (7 km/h).

Engine hard starting or not starting

Fuel injection pump is broken - Rebuild or change fuel pump
Air cleaner element is clogged - Service or replace the air cleaner
Engine stalling at idle
Too low idle RPM - Adjust low idle speed
Fuel injection pump damage - Rebuild or replace pump
Clogged or damaged injector nozzles - Check and change nozzles as required
The valve clearance is not adjusted - Check and adjust as required
Engine overheats
Lack of coolant in cooling system - Top up coolant fluid. Check for leaks or other malfunctions
Cooling system is dirty or cooling parts are failed - Flush cooling system or replace faulty parts
Engine oil level is insufficient - Fill the crankcase with engine oil
Fan belt is damaged or belt tension is incorrect - Adjust belt tension correctly or replace it
Thermostat failure - Replace the thermostat
Engine power is reduced
Dirty or faulty injectors - Check fuel injectors and replace if required

Incorrect setting of fuel injection pump timing - Adjust the fuel injection pump timing correctly
Fuel injector nozzles are damaged - Change or clean injector nozzles
Lack of engine oil - Fill up the engine oil
Low coolant temperature - Normalize the engine temperature
Crankshaft or main bearings failure - Need to install new components
Defective or broken piston rings - Replace the piston rings as required
Flywheel mounting screws are loose - Tighten the screws
Diesel engine using too much oil
Oil leaking: Defective seals or gaskets - Replace defective parts
Incorrect oil viscosity - Use proper viscosity oil
Worn or stuck piston rings - Piston rings need to be replaced
Valve stems or guides are damaged - Install new valves

Electrical System Troubleshooting
Battery is not charging
Faulty cell in battery - Replace the battery

Battery terminals and cables are corroded or loose - Tighten or clean terminals and cables
Damaged belt or incorrectly adjusted belt tension - Adjust belt tension correctly or replace belt
Starter cranks slowly
Low battery output - Charge the battery
Battery does not hold charge - Service or change the battery
Battery cable harness failure - Check battery electrical cable for defects, replace or repair
Loose or corroded battery cables and terminals - Cables and terminals must be tightened or cleaned
Starter will not work
Low battery voltage - Battery is drained, charge it
Discharged or faulty battery - Recharge or replace battery
Defective starter motor - Change or repair starter
Wiring is improperly connected or disconnected - Need to reconnect the wiring properly

Transmission Troubleshooting
Gears are hard to shift
Worn or incorrectly adjusted clutch - Clutch needs to be replaced or adjusted
Stuck or damaged gear shift linkage - Replace or repair the shift linkage
Damaged or worn shift forks - Shift forks need to be changed
Gearshift mechanism failure - Change or repair failed components
Low transmission fluid pressure
Lack of transmission fluid supply - Fill system with correct transmission fluid level
Plugged transmission fluid filter (if equipped) - Change or clean the transmission fluid filter
Faulty relief valve - Install a new relief valve
Transmission makes noise

Air leaks in hydraulic system - Inspect the suction pipe, fittings, and pump seals
Low hydraulic oil pressure
Hydraulic fluid level is insufficient - Check and refill the hydraulic fluid
Hydraulic fluid filter element clogging - Replace hydraulic filter element or service if necessary
Hydraulic pump malfunction - Check hydraulic pump flow and replace pump if necessary
Defective or not adjusted hydraulic control valve - Replace or adjust correctly
Faulty hydraulic cylinder - Inspect the hydraulic cylinder components for damage or wear and change if required
Leakage in hydraulic pipes - Detect leaks in hydraulic system and repair it
3-point hitch does not raise or raises very slowly
Hydraulic fluid level is low - Add fluid to the hydraulic system
Hydraulic fluid is too cold - Allow fluid to warm

Faulty hydraulic cylinder - Check the hydraulic cylinder components for damage or wear and change if necessary
Worn hitch rock shaft - Change the shaft
Hitch has mechanical defects - Replace defective or worn hitch parts
Hitch jerks when lift or lower
Air in hydraulic system - Check the suction line, pump seals, and fittings
Hydraulic oil is dirty - Hydraulic oil change required
Hydraulic pump is defective - Check pump flow and change pump if necessary
Hydraulic spool valve block is faulty or out of adjustment - Change or adjust properly
Hydraulic cylinder is not working - Inspect cylinder parts for wear or damage and replace if required
