The Kubota L2600 is equipped with a 85 cu.in (1.4 L) Kubota D1403 vertical 3-cylinder water-cooled diesel engine with a rated power of 26 hp (19.3 kW) at 2800 rpm.

The transmission includes a dry clutch and sliding mesh gearbox with 8 forward and 2 reverse gears. The maximum travel speed (forward and reverse): 14.3 mph (22 km/h) / 9.6 mph (15.5 km/h). The open center hydraulic system used a gear pump with a flow of 4.6 gpm (17.4 lpm) for L2600F model or 7.2 gpm (27.3 lpm) for L2600DT model. The hydraulic pressure is 155 (2250 psi).

The Kubota L2600 tractor was equipped with 5.00-15 (2WD) or 7.00-16 (4WD) front tires and 11.2-24 rear tires. The wheelbase is 61.2" (1550 mm) for 2-wheel drive models and 61.6" (1560 mm) for 4-wheel drive models. Compatible attachments for the tractor: Kubota LB400 loader with lift capacity to full height of 882 lbs (400 kg), Kubota BL4690 backhoe with maximum digging depth of 90" (2280 mm) and bucket digging force of 2950 lbs (1338 kg).
