Mahindra 2540 Troubleshooting

The 4-wheel drive Mahindra 2540 compact utility tractor was manufactured between 1955 and 1958. The Mahindra 2540 driveline consists of four-cycle four-cylinder direct injection naturally aspirated diesel engine and 12x12 synchro shuttle partial synchromesh transmission. A 166.7 cubic inches (2.7 L) engine has a cylinder bore of 3.5" (89 mm), piston stroke of 4.33" (110 mm), and rated power of 40 hp (29.8 kW). The maximum forward speed - 15.7 mph (25.3 km/h), maximum reverse speed - 14 mph (22.5 km/h).

The open center hydraulic system includes a gear pump with rated fluid flow of 8.2 gpm (31 lpm). The Mahindra 2540 is equipped with a hydrostatic power steering system, wet disc brakes, 8.30x16 front tyres, and 12.4x24 rear tyres. The tractor is compatible with Mahindra 2540L front end-loader with a lift capacity to full height of 2040 lbs (925 kg), and Mahindra 2540B backhoe with maximum digging depth of 92 in (2330 mm).
