Mahindra 2816 Troubleshooting
The
Mahindra 2816 is a 4WD (4x4) compact utility tractor from 16 Series. This model
was manufactured from 2008 to 2010. The Mahindra 2816 tractor is powered by 80.4
cu.in (1.3 L) Mitsubishi S3L2 three-cylinder indirect injection water-cooled
diesel engine with a rated power of 28 hp (20.9 kW). The Mahindra 2816 is fitted
with a two transmission options: constant mesh transmission with 9 forward and 3
reverse gears, or hydrostatic transmission with infinite forward and reverse
gears.
The maximum travel speed (forward/reverse): 11.7 mph (18.8 km/h) and 6.2 mph (10 km/h). The open center hydraulic system has a gear pump with a rated capacity of 7.8 gpm (29.5 lpm). The hydraulic system pressure is 147 bar (2133 psi). The tractors are equipped with 7.00x16 front tires and 11.2x24 rear tires. The wheelbase is 65 inches (1650 mm). Compatible attachments for the tractor: Mahindra ML106 front end-loader with a lift capacity to full height of 1050 lbs (475 kg).

Air in the fuel system - Air bleeding.
Fuel filter element is dirty - Clean the filter or install new filter element.

Valve out of adjustment - Have it adjusted.
Fuel injection pump is faulty - Repair or change injection pump.

Low coolant temperature - Warm up the engine.
Fuel filter element clogging - Change filter element.
Air in fuel tank - Bleed fuel tank.
Defective or clogged injection nozzle - If necessary, replace with a new nozzle.

Blown cylinder head gasket - Cylinder-head gasket replacement required.
Piston rings are defective or leaking - Replace the piston rings as required.

Engine has a lack of coolant - Add coolant fluid and inspect the cooling system for leaks.
Engine oil level low - Need to add engine oil.
Dirty radiator fins or faulty radiator cap - Change cap or clean radiator.
Loose or defective fan belt - Fan belt must be replaced.
Engine overloaded - Reduce load on the engine.

Low battery output voltage - Recharge the battery.
Battery drains quickly - Battery needs to be serviced or replaced.
Bad terminals or disconnected battery cables - Check wiring connections and replace or clean terminals.

Battery is low or faulty - Recharge or change battery.
Disconnected or improperly connected wiring harness - Inspect battery wiring harness and connect as required.
Low battery output - Battery is drained, charge it.
Faulty starter motor - Starter needs to be replaced.
