The
Massey Ferguson 4243 utility tractor was manufactured between 1998 and 2001. The
Massey Ferguson 4243 tractor is powered by 243.5 cu.in (4L) Perkins 1004.4T
4-stroke 4-cylinder direct injection turbocharged diesel engine with a maximum
power of 85 hp (63.4 kW) and 311 Nm (229 lb-ft) of peak torque at 1500 rpm.
The Massey Ferguson 4243 is fitted with 4 transmission options: 8x2
non-synchronized gear transmission, 12x4 partially synchronized
transmission, 8x8 synchronized shuttle transmission, or 12x12
synchronized shuttle transmission. Max forward speed - 24.7 mph (39.8
kph), max reverse speed - 23.9 mph (38.5 kph). The open center hydraulic
system used a pump with a flow of 10 gal/min (37.8 l/min).
The main relief pressure is 210 bar (3050 psi). The MF 4243 was equipped
with a hydrostatic power steering, independent hydraulic wet disc
brakes, 7.5Lx15 front tires, and 18.4x30 rear tires. The wheelbase is 93
inches (2360 mm). The tractor is compatible with a Massey Ferguson 1036
loader with lift capacity to full height of 3755 lbs (1703 kg) and
breakout force of 6900 lbs (3130 kg).
