Massey Ferguson 8140 Tractor
The
Massey Ferguson 8140 row-crop tractor was manufactured from 1995 to 1998. The
components of Massey Ferguson 8140 driveline system: a 403 cu.in (6.6L) Valmet
620 DS 4-cycle 6-cylinder turbocharged liquid-cooled diesel engine and Dynashift
4-speed powershift transmission with 32 forward and 32 reverse gears.
The engine has a cylinder bore of 4.25" (108 mm), piston stroke of 4.73"
(120 mm), rated power of 159 hp (117.7 kW), and maximum torque of 650 Nm
(482 lb-ft) at 1300 rpm. The maximum travel speed (forward and reverse):
24.8 mph (39.9 km/h). The tractor is fitted with two types of hydraulic
systems.
The closed center hydraulic system with flow and pressure control used a
variable displacement pump with fluid flow rate of 42.3 gpm (160 lpm).
The hydraulic pressure is 180 bar (2600 psi). The open center hydraulic
system used a two-stage gear pump with fluid flow rate of 14.2 gpm (54
lpm). The hydraulic pressure is 185 bar (2685 psi).
The Massey Ferguson 8140 is equipped with a hydrostatic steering system,
hydraulic wet disc brakes, 11.00x16 (2WD) or 16.9x28 (4WD) front tires,
and 16.9x38 (2WD) or 20.8x38 (4WD) rear tires. The wheel base is 115.7"
(2940 mm) for models with 2WD and 114.9" (2925 mm) for models with 4WD.
The tractor is compatible with Massey Ferguson 1056 loader with lift
capacity to maximum height of 6015 lbs (2728 kg) and breakout force of
9620 lbs (4363 kg).
