Massey Ferguson 8160 Tractor
The
Massey Ferguson 8160 is a 2WD or 4WD row-crop tractor from 8100 series. This
model was manufactured between 1995 and 1998. The Massey Ferguson 8160 tractor
is equipped with a 452 cu.in (7.4L) Valmet 634 DS 4-cycle 6-cylinder
turbocharged liquid-cooled diesel engine with a rated power of 198.6 hp (147.1
kW) and 810 Nm (602 lb-ft) of max torque at 1300 rpm.
The Dynashift transmission consists of a 8-disc wet clutch with disc
diameter of 9.06" (230 mm) and 4-speed powershift gearbox with 32
forward and 32 reverse gears. Max forward speed - 24.6 mph (39.6 km/h),
maximum reverse speed - 24.6 mph (39.6 km/h). The Massey Ferguson 8160
is fitted with two types of hydraulic systems. The closed center
hydraulic system with flow and pressure control used a variable
displacement pump with fluid flow rate of 42.3 gpm (160 lpm). The
hydraulic pressure is 180 bar (2600 psi).
The open center hydraulic system used a two-stage gear pump with fluid
flow rate of 14.2 gpm (54 lpm). The hydraulic pressure is 185 bar (2685
psi). The 2-wheel drive models are equipped with 11.00x16 front tyres
and 16.9x38 rear tyres. The 16.9R28 front tyres and 20.8R38 rear tyres
fit 4-wheel drive tractors. The wheelbase is 115.7" (2940 mm) for 2WD
models and 114.9" (2925 mm) for 4WD models. The tractor is compatible
with Massey Ferguson 1056 loader with lift capacity to maximum height of
6015 lbs (2728 kg) and breakout force of 9620 lbs (4363 kg).
