John Deere 4230 Tractor
The
John Deere 4230 is a Generation 2 series row crop tractor. This model was
manufactured from 1973 to 1977. The JD 4230 powerline system components: John
Deere 4 cycle 6-cylinder diesel engine and 16x6 Quad-Range partial power shift
and synchronized transmission, or 8x4 full power shift transmission, and 8x2
Syncro Range partially synchronized transmission.
A 404 cu.in (6.6 L) engine power rating is 111 hp (80.5 kW) at 2200 rpm.
Maximum forward speed - 20.5 mph (33 km/h), maximum reverse speed - 10.5
mph (16.9 km/h).
The closed center hydraulic system includes a piston pump with a rated
fluid flow of 23 gal/min (87 l/min). The hydraulic system pressure is
170 bar (2500 psi). The John Deere 4230 is fitted with 11.0x16 or
9.5Lx15 front tires and 18.4x26 or 23.1x26 rear tires. The wheelbase is
104" (2640 mm). The tractor can be equipped with the following front end
loaders: John Deere 148 loader with a lift capacity to maximum height of
3100 lbs (1405 kg), or John Deere 158 loader with a lift capacity to
full height of 3800 lbs (1725 kg).
